Terms of Service

These terms apply to enquiries made through this website and to transfers, tours and other travel services arranged by Zentigo Travels, Colombo, Sri Lanka. Please read them before confirming a booking.

Enquiries and quotations

Submitting an enquiry does not create a booking. Prices shown or discussed are quotations for the dates, party size and vehicle described in that enquiry, and remain subject to availability until we confirm the booking in writing. A quotation is valid for 14 days unless we state otherwise.

Confirming a booking

A booking is confirmed when we have sent you a written confirmation and received the deposit stated in it. The confirmation sets out the itinerary, the vehicle, what is included and the balance due. Please check it and tell us immediately if anything is wrong.

Payment

Unless your confirmation says otherwise, a deposit secures the booking and the balance is settled in Sri Lanka before or at the end of the service. Accepted payment methods and currencies are stated in your confirmation. Bank charges on international transfers are the customer's responsibility.

Changes and cancellations

Tell us as early as you can if your plans change. We will always try to accommodate changes to dates, routing or party size, but changes may affect the price, and third-party bookings such as accommodation, park entry and train tickets are subject to their own providers' terms. Cancellation terms, including any non-refundable third-party costs, are stated in your booking confirmation.

What is included

Tour and transfer quotations include the vehicle, fuel, the driver or driver-guide, and the driver's accommodation and meals on multi-day trips, unless stated otherwise. Unless your confirmation lists them, they do not include flights, visas, travel insurance, entrance tickets, guide fees at individual sites, meals, or personal expenses.

Vehicles and drivers

We allocate a vehicle appropriate to your party size and luggage. We may substitute a vehicle of equivalent or higher standard, or change the assigned driver, where operational circumstances require it. Passenger numbers must not exceed the vehicle's licensed capacity, and seat belts must be worn.

Itineraries and conditions beyond our control

Itineraries are planned in good faith on realistic driving times. Road conditions, weather, traffic, roadworks, national park closures, railway schedule changes, strikes and other events outside our control may require an itinerary to be adjusted. Where that happens we will discuss alternatives with you and aim to preserve the value of the trip. We are not liable for losses arising from such events, including missed flights where the delay is outside our control.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for holding a valid passport, any required travel authorisation or visa, and appropriate travel insurance, including cover for medical treatment and any activities you intend to take part in. Please tell us at the time of booking about medical conditions, mobility requirements, dietary needs or anything else that affects how we should plan your trip.

Liability

We arrange services with care and use drivers and suppliers we know. Where third parties such as hotels, national park operators, boat operators and railway services provide part of your trip, their own terms and liability apply. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Complaints

If something goes wrong during your trip, please tell your driver or contact us immediately so that we have the chance to put it right while you are still travelling. Any complaint afterwards should be sent to zentigotravels@gmail.com within 28 days of your return.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sri Lanka, and the courts of Sri Lanka have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
